Hello my Hungarian Csepel and forum friends,

First of all thank you for the translations and information!

I discovered the frame nr. today it is 125/790. I think this means it is a 125 frame and number 790 of that year?
            20160219_162931.jpg

            About the engine number H9177.
Could it be that the H stands for Hollandia? I remeber that the Netherlands are called Holandia in Humgay?
(stands for the year...49 and 177 is the serial nr. of engines?

            Translation / Magyarul:

            Dear Eric!

As you can see, our friends share a lot of pictures about the Csepel bikes. The basic colour for these bikes was black, and there were some different versions regarding the other colour.
Mateapu said it's hard to believe any colour other than red was possible it that time, when our country had socialism forced onto it.

I did a quick research, the Hungarian versions also got a frame number starting with 125, followed by a few numbers. I say few, because yours has 3 numbers, but I also saw pictures of frames with 5 numbers. Although I am not sure about it, a simple, sequential numbering system is quite possible.

About the engine: Hungarian versions got the number M125/XXXX. "M" could stand for "motor" which means engine in our language. What you wrote about the Netherlands called Hollandia in Hungarian is correct. And in those times - according to what I read in books about the topic - bikes meant to be exported got better quality check, engines tested for a longer period, better equipment and so on. So I can imagine this "special treatment" also consisted of a special engine number.
Usually the frame and engine have the same serial, but not on all bikes. And I don't know Csepel (or Olympia branded) bikes well enough to say it for sure.

How many of these bikes are in the Netherlands? Comparing the numbers of your motorcycle to other Germaan Olympia bikes could help if this question is important enough to spend hours with it.

            Translation / fordítás:

            Kedves Eric!

Gyorsan utánanéztem, a hazai gépek száma is 125-tel kezdődött, utána néhány számmal. Azért írok néhányat, mert a tiéden ez a szám 3, míg amiket képeken láttam 5 számúak voltak. Habár nem vagyok biztos benne, szimpla sorszámozás is könnyen lehetséges.

A motorblokkról: a hazaiak M125/XXXX formátumúak voltak.

There's a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".

I don't know how many of these bikes we're imported to the Netherlands.
And no it isn't that important, to spend hours.
Fact is that this is for sure an imported Csepel.

I'v got an picture from my bike when the owner before me bought it.
It is black with a silvergrey tank.
Only the striping is gold. I think that originally the striping also was silvergrey.

-ezzel egyidőben van dokumentálva 1950-ben kiszállított 100-as is 23900 körüli motorszámmal
--125-ös prototipusok már 48-ban voltak, 125/17 és 125/32 közötti jelölésel
                - 1948 szeptemberben vizsgázott a 125/12 váz és motorszámú motor
                - 1950 januárban a számozás 125/6000-ig jutott és a rendszám DN 900 körülig, ekkor motorszám és vázszám azonos

Great information "Wsievers"! For what I can understand from Hungarian this means that my Csepel aka Germaan is from the year 1949.
                  Between 125/12 (1948) and 125/6000 (januari 1950).

Yes, you understood it well - to make it more precise: the bike with the 125/12 frame number got its registration plate in September 1948. Production of the 125 ccm models started at the end of 1948. By January 1950 the 125/6000 number region was reached.

                      Hello my forum friends.

Some Technical questions about parts in the engine 125/49

                      First question:
                      I need 3 oil seals.
The 2 used ones I found in the engine are Stefa 1630x8 I think?
These are parts nr 45 in the sparelist picture below.
But is the part nr 80 also an oil seal? And is this the same measure as the others?
Where can I get those? Or what are the measures, so I can replace them by new ones.
                      I thougth the measures of the nr 45 seals are 30mm x 16mm x 8.

                      Second question:

Where can I get kuplung rugó as I think they call those in Hungary?

And I need the corks to put in the clutch/kuplung. Or a new plate with cork on it. There are 3 of these plates in the clutch.
                      I found this one http://www.motoralkatresz24.hu/term%...-2100000145720
Is it better to use that new plate?

Cutting and sticking fresh bottle corks on the metal grid is a rather boring method. Those plates with the boarded cork also do the job.

                          Dear Eric,

I read all of your writings. The last one, you had some questions about your motorcycle.
In my opinion, there are 2 same oil seals and a smaller one, I know because I'm a Csepel 125 T (1954) owner.
The latest Csepel version (type T or type D) included 2 pieces of 16x30x10 oil seal, and 1 piece of 15x30x10 size.

Enclosed some amazing link for you. I think it could be interesting:

                            Hi Petiv (Peter)

                            Thanks for your reaction.
I think the measures of the oil seals are the same in the '49 engine. I gonna buy me some at the local dealer.

Googled a lot on Csepel bikes, but never found the BZ'S blog. Intresting! Thanks.
I think I saw your Csepel on Instagram or don't you own an account?

And no worry about the poor English, the mine isn't much better I think...;-)

                            Hi Bokor,

I saw an post on this forum about cutting bottle corks, it's a hell of a job. I prefer the new plates.

Do you know if they have the same thickness as the old plates with cork?

                            Eric

I do not really know. I did not use these Csepel plates. I have a Pannonia, and I used refurbished cluth plates (plates are difeerent, method is the same). I think whoever is producing it knows the required thickness. If you check the picture, even the oil channels are etched on the surface, so it must be a ready to use plate. Some cork matterial tend to expand from hot oil, but I am very sure they use good matterial.
In this case the price (1473Huf) is for one plate.

Well with the information about the oil seals I went to the locasl store and got me a pair of 16x30x10 and one 15x30x10.
                                Another step forwards.

Also bought 3 new clutchplates with cork in Hungary.

Today I put al the pieces of the rocketshaped exhaust together. Great design!
